(The Short Version)
I provide market-based guidance to help you understand what items are generally worth and how you might sell them. This isn’t a formal appraisal for legal, tax, or insurance purposes unless we agree to that in writing.
Values are shared as realistic ranges, not promises—final prices can change based on timing, demand, condition, and where items are sold.
I rely on the information you share about your items and appreciate your best efforts to keep it accurate.
Payment details are listed on your invoice. Some services require advance payment, and once work has begun, fees aren’t refundable.
Travel outside the immediate area and additional time are billed as outlined and discussed ahead of time whenever possible.
Valuations are always done independently. If you’d like help selling items afterward, that’s optional, clearly disclosed, and handled separately.
Decisions about selling, keeping, or donating items are always yours. My responsibility is limited to the cost of the service you’ve purchased.
These terms follow Oregon law, and if one part doesn’t apply, the rest still stands.
Scope of Services
Worth Knowing Valuations provides informal, market-based valuation services for informational and resale guidance purposes only. Services provided are not certified or USPAP-compliant appraisals and may not be used for insurance, tax, probate, or legal proceedings unless explicitly stated in writing.

Value Ranges
All values are provided as ranges, reflecting real-world market variability. Final prices depend on factors beyond the consultant’s control, including buyer demand, timing, venue, and condition.
Client Responsibility & Accuracy of Information
Client represents that all information provided regarding ownership, condition, and provenance is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Payment
Payment is due according to the terms stated on the invoice. Some services require advance payment. Additional time or scope requested beyond the original agreement will be billed separately.
Fees are based on professional time and expertise and are non-refundable once services have commenced, regardless of outcome or client decision not to proceed.
Travel & Additional Time
Extended travel and additional service time are billed as outlined in the service description and confirmed in advance whenever possible.
Objectivity & Resale Services
Valuation services are conducted independently. Any optional resale assistance is discussed only after valuation services are complete and is offered as a separate service.
Conflict of Interest & Commission-Based Sales
In some cases, Worth Knowing Valuations may offer resale or commission-based selling services. Any such arrangement will be disclosed in advance and agreed to separately. Valuation services are not contingent upon resale services unless explicitly stated.
Limitation of Liability
Worth Knowing Valuations is not responsible for decisions made by clients based on provided guidance, nor for outcomes related to resale, donation, or disposition of property.
All valuations are opinions based on available market data at the time of service and are not guarantees of future value or sale price. Client acknowledges that markets fluctuate and values may change.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Worth Knowing Valuations’ total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the services giving rise to the claim.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior discussions or understandings.
Governing Law & Venue
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
